All of the promotion, politics and pervasive persuasion that permeates this society exploits the most important distinction of the Human species: Imagination. Our ability to think of things that re not has been the driving force behind our ability to alter the material world to meet our needs. Our inclination to confuse imagination with reality is at the heart of our ability to be persuaded by pleasant images, pontificated or viewed. It does not matter if a message is true or not, if we can imagine that it is, it becomes our reality. A false reality, fervently believed, becomes a collective or individual reality and is confined to that context. The physical reality, is indifferent to our imagination. With so many false interpretations of reality guiding our actions, one can hardly be surprised the ludicrous machinations of individuals and collectives. The failure of Human imagination is our inability to distinguish imagination from reality.
